Early Beta
Privacy Policy
Effective August 15, 2026
This policy explains how the current free Framo Early Beta handles information when you use our browser-based virtual sunglasses try-on. Framo does not currently offer user accounts.
Camera and virtual try-on
Framo asks for camera access to provide real-time virtual sunglasses try-on. Camera images are processed on your device by Framo's browser-side face-tracking and rendering pipeline. Framo does not intentionally transmit or store your camera video or frames on its servers.
You choose whether to allow camera access. You can deny or later revoke permission through your browser or device controls.
Face tracking
Framo uses MediaPipe Face Landmarker in your browser to estimate facial landmarks and pose. This information is used to position, orient, fit, and render sunglasses on your face in real time.
Framo does not intentionally send face landmarks or face-tracking geometry to its servers or to PostHog, and does not intentionally retain that information. Framo does not use this face-tracking information to identify you, authenticate you, or build advertising profiles.
Product analytics
Framo uses PostHog to understand how the Early Beta is used and to improve the product. PostHog may use browser storage and pseudonymous identifiers associated with a browser or session.
Events may include session start, viewport dimensions, general device category, referrer domain, camera startup status, frame swipes and saves, Compare usage, Share actions, shop-link clicks, product or model identifiers, interaction timestamps, and normalized technical or error information. Framo does not intentionally include camera images or face landmarks in these events.
For applicable users, Framo may use Google Ads conversion measurement to understand whether advertising leads to successful product interactions. Google may process information such as the page visited, browser or device information, IP address, and cookies or similar identifiers where applicable. Framo does not send camera images, face landmarks, or face-tracking data to Google Ads. Under the current Early Beta architecture, Google Ads measurement is not enabled for users in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland.
Session Replay
PostHog Session Replay may record interactions with Framo's interface so we can understand product usability. Framo has configured replay to exclude the camera/video region, the main virtual try-on canvas, the Compare canvas, and share-preview imagery. Input masking is enabled, and canvas recording is disabled.
These measures are intended to keep camera imagery and typed input out of replay recordings; they are not a promise that every possible item displayed elsewhere in the interface will always be masked.
Feedback
Feedback is voluntary. If you submit feedback, Framo sends the text you enter, together with limited product context such as the current mode, selected product, and tray count, to PostHog. Please do not include sensitive personal information.
Comparison images and sharing
When you explicitly open Share, Framo generates a comparison image locally on your device and shows you a preview. Framo does not upload or store the generated image. Saving downloads it locally; sharing uses your browser or operating system's share mechanism.
If you choose to share the image with another app or service, that recipient's practices apply after you share it.
Services and resources
- PostHog receives the product analytics, replay information, and feedback described above.
- Google Ads may receive the limited conversion measurement information described above for applicable users outside the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
- Vercel hosts Framo and its server endpoints and may process ordinary connection and request information needed to deliver the service.
- Supabase stores and serves Framo's sunglasses catalog and fitting configurations through Framo's server. Framo does not intentionally send camera images or face-tracking data to Supabase.
- MediaPipe and static resource providers, including Google-hosted MediaPipe model assets, jsDelivr, product-image/model hosts, and Poly Haven, provide software or static files to your browser. Browser requests to those providers may include ordinary connection information such as an IP address and browser headers; Framo does not send them camera images or face landmarks.
Retention
Camera frames and face-tracking results are transient browser-side data and are not intentionally retained by Framo. Analytics, replay, feedback, and hosting records are retained according to Framo's current service configuration and the applicable service providers' settings. Framo has not stated a fixed retention period for the Early Beta.
The camera-notice acknowledgement is stored locally in your browser. It contains only an acknowledgement flag, not camera images, landmarks, or face data.
Your choices
You may decline camera access and can revoke it through browser or device controls. Feedback is optional. Creating, saving, and sharing a comparison image requires your action. Framo has no account-based privacy controls because the Early Beta does not use accounts.
Children
Framo's Early Beta is not directed to children under 13.

Changes
Framo may update this policy as the Early Beta changes. A revised policy will show a new effective date, and a materially changed camera notice can be shown again using a new notice version.
